Chef Matthew and his staff offer a casual menu all day with salads, appetizers, soups and sandwiches on fresh baked breads. A seasonally changing entrée menu is available from 4pm until 9pm with such offerings as Pecan crusted Sunburst Farms Trout, Grilled CAB N.Y. Strip Steak, Crispy Goat Cheese Risotto Cakes with Pomodoro Sauce and N.C. Flounder Almondine. The Palate provides lunch and dinner for hotel guests, visitors and our friends in Black Mountain.

Here you can enjoy a delicious meal in a relaxing setting filled with art and music. Executive Chef Matthew Krabitz creates his menus using foods in their simplest form, starting with fresh ingredients, adding layers of tastes and textures, finishing with a colorful presentation.
A casual menu is available daily. A fine dining menu is available every evening from 4 - 9 pm. Chef Matthew creates a rotating menu of Weekly Entrée Features, with such offerings as Shrimp and Grits, and our own version of 'Chicken and Dumpling'.
On Sundays from 11 am - 9 pm enjoy traditional Southern Cooking. Try our Southern Fried Chicken or Roast Beef with Perfect Lumpy Mashed Potatoes, local fresh vegitables and greens, and homemade biscuits with honey butter.
